Follow the tool and material chain
The release-build analysis cited below describes goo as a Clay source and identifies the pickaxe as the tool for clearing it. It places many of those obstacles in the sewer area. This is a secondary data-based lead; we have not independently mapped the first pickaxe.
Find the relevant tool before treating every patch of goo as a usable supply. We do not have a tested drop percentage, a guaranteed amount per pile or a timed farming loop. Avoid budgeting an exact number of piles from this page.
Why an old answer says Clay is unavailable
On June 13, a developer replied that Clay, the pickaxe and Axe were absent from the demo under discussion. That is useful context for older posts, not evidence that the released game lacks them. Check whether the guide you are reading describes the demo or the full game.
Decide what you need it for
Our selected recipe dataset assigns five Clay to one Smelter. A separate secondary statue analysis assigns 16 to a Statue Mold interaction. Those are different uses; the camp planner includes the Smelter, while the statue guide covers the latter. Confirm current menu costs before committing a scarce supply.
