Search Data Methodology

What these rankings cover

The lists cover tracked games that already have reviewed guides in this library. They are not a complete ranking of every game, sales, or active players.

The initial market is the United States, with English queries. Search data is supplied by DataForSEO using Google Ads and Google Trends.

Search attention

We rank the representative query's search volume for the same complete month. The month and query appear with each value. Historical average monthly volume is a separate measure and is not substituted for a current month.

Ambiguous names use a qualifier such as “game”. Search queries can overlap; adding their volumes does not produce an estimate of unique visitors to this site.

Recently rising

We compare the mean relative interest across seven consecutive complete days with the preceding seven days in the same query, market, language, and response batch:

(recent seven-day mean / previous seven-day mean − 1) × 100%

The relative Google Trends index is not a search count. Raw index values from different batches cannot be directly compared. A large percentage can come from a very small baseline; changes of 500% or more carry a baseline reminder.

Missing, zero, and older data

Missing values remain missing. We do not fill absent days with zeros or count seven scattered samples as a week. Duplicate dates, partial days, missing-data flags, or weekly data cannot produce a daily growth percentage.

A zero baseline is a separate signal without a percentage ranking. Trend windows ending more than three days before the observation date, and monthly data older than 60 days from the month's end, do not enter the current ranking.

Silver Pines currently has a monthly snapshot for “silver pines game” but no matching independent trend series. The ambiguous “silver pines” series is not used as a substitute. Its guides remain available.
