How many players can join?
The official Steam description says you can play alone or with up to two friends. That means a group of three including you. The store lists online co-op, so this page does not infer couch co-op or split-screen support from the word “multiplayer.”
Does it support crossplay?
Steam lists Cross-Platform Multiplayer among the game's features. That establishes the official feature tag; it does not give us a tested invitation matrix for every storefront, console and operating-system pairing.
Before purchasing specifically to play across two platforms, check the current publisher or platform listing for that exact pairing. We have not independently tested Steam-to-console invitations, so we do not label a particular pairing as confirmed here.
A removed password still blocks friends
The official October 15 patch 1.0.47.0 lists a fix for a lobby password remaining active after removal. If that matches your problem, check the host's installed version, apply the available update and retry the lobby's password setting.
That patch entry concerns a specific lobby bug. It is not evidence that all connection failures are password-related or that a particular network workaround is required.
